Recruitment Privacy Notice (Blue Octopus)
This privacy notice informs candidates applying through the Blue Octopus Website how South Yorkshire Housing Association will collect and use personal data in our recruitment process when you apply to work with us.This is in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
How we use your personal data about you
We will collect your personal information during the recruitment process, either directly from candidates or through third-party employment agencies such as Blue Octopus.We have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data during the recruitment process so that we can make an informed decision about your suitability for the vacancy.
The information may include your name, address, email address and phone numbers, and may also include work history, education history, a curriculum vitae (CV), and other information dependent on the role applied for.You may also provide us with sensitive personal data such as your race or ethnic origin, religion or other similar beliefs and physical and sexual orientation.
It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date and you can support this by keeping us informed of changes to your personal information during the recruitment process.
We may also ask for your consent to consider your application data you have provided for different vacancies and posts we may have within SYHA (Reserve List).
Sharing your information
The personal data you provide during the recruitment process as described above will be stored electronically by Blue Octopus, our recruitment provider as part of the recruitment service they provide.We will not normally share your personal data with a third party unless it is part of the recruitment process or with your consent.
How we keep your data secure
We are committed to taking all reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the personal data that we hold about you from misuse, loss or unauthorised access.We do this by having in place a range of appropriate technical and organisational measures.
The access to your personal data stored electronically by Blue Octopus is restricted to authorised employees of South Yorkshire Housing Association for the purposes of recruitment.
Retention of data
We will retain applicant data for up to 14 months for the purposes of producing recruitment monitoring reports so that we can assess the overall effectiveness of our recruitment process as well as to conduct equal opportunities monitoring.
